Gambacher cross A5/A45: Logistics-turntable with future

Beside the firm locations Bad Vilbel and Karben, that profited from the proximity to Frankfurt, it is Butzbach above all in the conversation at present. Logistics-companies at the Expo Real showed a strong interested on the grounds of the former Ayers-Kaserne with one million cubic meter. After the the U.S. army left the 104 hectares big Ayers-Kaserne in Butzbach, experts from economic system and trade called it one "fillet-piece" for a future sphere of activity-settlement marks. Apparently they were right.

The native firm Bork, with over 50-year old experience, is in the transportation and carrying businesses and owns an independent fleet of over 200 saddle-tractors and 360 trailers, thus one of the "token-companies" of the Wetteraukreises. It bought the 104 hectare and restored it within one year virtually completely. The grounds are grudually developed to a booming logistics-centre.

The plans won right trip for Borks for the development of the Ayers-Areals, when the leading English logistics-park-developer Gazeley recognised the advantages of the central situation by the Gambacher highway-cross in direct proximity, own works siding and good infrastructure with junctions between the highways A5 and A45.

Gazeley with annual sales beyond the 200 million Euro acquired a right of pre-emption to a planned logistics-park of the Niederkleener Bork-Projektentwicklung on approximately 50 hectares of lot-plain, and develops it beside Berlin and Kassel to the third big location of a logistics-park in Germany. The name of the project: Magna Park Rhein-Main.

The Magna park, near Leicester in England's middle, is Europe’s biggest role model logistics-center, where the firm prepares approximately 800.000 square meters of rent-plain on 240 hectares of lot-plain. More than 5.000 workplaces were built there.

Gazeley develops individual building-complexes with differently big rent-plains, according to customers' need. The square meter-rents are dependent on size, equipment and solid lease contract-run time. Due to Bork’s project-development and restoration in view of the plan-maturity of the development plan, the buildings can be erected from the summer 2005 in 16 weeks of construction-time for the customer.

Directly at the former barracks-grounds, an office of the Rhenus INC. ranked "log Serve 1", settled in the logistics-center already 1997. At this location, Rhenus manufactures daily and current approximately 18.000 sales order-positions for his/its customers all over Germany and partially also in Europe from. 2002 Bork created "log Serve 2."

Bork already intends the creation of "log Serve 3" on the remaining one(s) in 54 ah the Ayers-area. The company stands in court hearings with interested parties at present.

Further companies profit from the central situation of the fourth-biggest city of the Wetteraukreis. Here, the discount supermarket chain ALDI built a central-stock, from where it controls 160 branches. A traditional company in Butzbach, producing turnouts and such as the point-technology for high-speed-routes as well as the Bs SMS process engineering Ltds, have both headquarters here. Several high tech-firms are registered in Butzbach. The ABB Fläkt Ltds produces and sells heat-technical advice. In the area Sensorik Ltds, RMG measuring-technology, the WABAG Ltds and NAXOS-UNION Ltds also produce here. Since 5 years, the pan-Europe internet-mail-order service of Digitalo has its home office in Butzbach and sends his/its more than 8.000 products from here.
