If you ask managers of local business companies what they think is one of the most important factors for success, they will answer: a highly educated youth who will be the top quality staff of tomorrow. Without junior talents the local enterprises cannot survive in international competition. Therefore, the Wetterau district offers a wide range of education and training possibilities. Several institutions not only provide thorough initial education but also further personal and professional training.

Young people find 90 schools in the Wetterau district, ranging from close-to-home elementary schools through comprehensive schools up to professional colleges. The Wetterau district is known throughout Hessen as a model region for schools that offer all-day care facilities. Many schools have taken great steps toward realising their concepts. Last but not least, the private International Business School in Bad Nauheim and the University of applied sciences of Gießen-Friedberg offer an attractive range of possibilities for their students. In the last five years, the number of students at the polytechnic has more than doubled and now totals 3,400.

In 12 special subjects, ranging from building to economic engineering, the students attend practice-oriented courses, focusing  mainly on technical education. Business studies and classes in social and cultural sciences complement the university’s offer.
