In the tourism industry the term "Unique selling proposition" is a popular word to emphasise the completely special of the respective location. Then often it is exaggerated into advertising-typical language hard. It is different in the bath Nauheimer Part of town of Steinfurth. He can rightly refer to a unique selling proposition, he accommodates the worldwide only museum to the art history and cultural history of the rose.
The queen of the flowers, as they already called the old Greeks, is bred for more than 2000 years than ornamental plant. Roses play in the cultural history of the humanity always an important role. In Persien there were already before millenniums rose gardens. One supposes that there also the rose oil production has taken her origin. In China roses should already have been bred 5000 years ago. Konfuzius writes from rose gardens in the capital. Also in antique Greece and antique Rome the rose was valid as a queen of the flowers. Red roses are valid since the antiquity as a symbol of the love. The economic use of the roses lies beside the use as an ornamental plant and cut flower in the rose oil which finds use in the perfume industry, and with the production of rose oil attacking rose waters is used for the production of marzipan and gingerbread.
We start in the rose museum in old Schulstrasse and go up a piece the forest lane to go after a good 150 metres the country lane to the right and immediately the first way again to the left. Now a good kilometre we walk straight ahead up to a grove. We go along one more piece at the edge of the forest and then come on a concrete tile path where we turn to the left. After few metres we reach a tarred street. We go a small piece along this connecting road and turn in the next possibility to the left.
500 metres are it up to a wood which seems impenetrable. The last piece of the meadow way is committed only seldom and can be highly covered accordingly. We go to the right to us come to abovementioned Kreisstrasse. It is driven on only moderately, so we can use them, now to the left going, a piece. Where the wood ends we follow on the left the path at the edge of the forest to us a meadow way bump which leads us in a moderate corner to the right. We go past to litter fruit meadows which are maintained only partly really well. Finally, we reach the nature reserve "Mountain Wingerts" where on account of the geologic subsoil special dry grasslands with continuance-threatened botanical species have settled.
Now on our way we reach Landesstrasse which leads from Oppershofen to Steinfurth. We cross the street and go on on the other side on the right on the cycle track. Now we follow first of all the cycle track sign-posting, the weather crosses and come, finally, to the section of Bad Nauheim after coin mountain. The distance has lost long ago already her commercial relevance. The railway friends Wetterau inc. with location in Bad Nauheim have sat down to the destination to receive the distance and some old vehicles. Regularly there are steam engine special rides.
After the Bahnüberquerung we separate from the cycle track and go on the left in the direction of sports field and cemetery. We ignore the cemetery and further walk straight ahead and then in a light link crease in the direction of south. The tar way goes over in a concrete way and, finally, in a meadow way which is preserved to us quite a while. We bump into the railway line which will accompany just 1.5 kilometres to us. Briefly behind the sewage plant we cross the rails once more and turn after 100 metres to the right. Past a wet grassland we bump into the weather which has given his name to one of the biggest administrative districts of Hessen.
We cross the weather bridge and go immediately afterwards on the right to the "cherry garden". In the sports facilities we turn to the left and immediately again on the right in the street "in the sports field". We go for just 500 metres straight ahead and then take the first way after the cultivation to the left and soon bump into Kreisstrasse 173. We follow her on the wheel / footpath for about 500 metres to the right and then come to a sign which points out call to the rose school. Here we cross the street and run along the reeds ditch up to the market garden of the same name where there is also coffee and cake with which we can recompense ourselves for the today's strains. Besides a view also repays in the rose breeding which occurs here after biology country default.
Now at an angle compared with the market garden entrance we go again back in the direction of Steinfurth. Now we run by rose fields and take pleasure in the beguiling smells of the queen of the flowers. We bump, finally, into a marvellous rose hedge where we turn to the right and after 100 metres to the left. Now one says, actually: Always only after the nose. A good kilometre we must still run. First by the thorn ditch, finally, in the Södeler street which leads us then directly up to the museum and to our parking bay.
We crown our hike still with the visit of the rose museum and a purchase in the museum store.
